Design has been getting simpler, yet richer.  In a world where user experience is king, complex brand systems get in the way of the content. Function overrides design details, and every brand asset needs to earn its place.  Brands are striving to streamline their core assets.

The theory of colour is a discipline that stretches back much further than that - at least to the 15th century - and encompasses physics, chemistry and mathematics to fully define and explain the concepts. However, much of this is unnecessary to being able to use colour effectively.

Using  illustration in our design work sometimes isnt't a clear cut choice.  It has its  pros and cons creatively; vary in the costs, time and resources required; and can also communicate your message in very different ways, whether abstract and conceptual, or realistic and literal.

Photography can draw you into a scene and evoke a powerful emotional response as it's much closer to a real sensory experience than an illustration. As a Design Studio, this may mean the content has to play second fiddle to a hero image to avoid fighting for attention.
